At our central Bristol Barber salon we see the same hair problems week after week – and it’s only a bit of simple education from hairdressing experts that is usually required.

Summer hair problem Number One:

“My hair’s too dry, sits flat, and I can’t do anything with it.”

Our answer? Use EVO Salty Dog Spray – apply into hair after shampooing, conditioning and styling, simple and easy – use fingers to style in, then blowdry lightly, and tussle into place.

It gives a light hold, allowing easy styling, yet provides a dry finish, keeping the hair looking full-bodied rather than thin or flat.

Summer hair problem Number Two:

“After shampooing, my hair goes crazy and I hate using sticky hair products.”

Our answer? Use TIGI B for Men In-Check – apply after shampooing and conditioning, by applying a small amount into hands and placing evenly over the hair, then leaving to dry naturally.

In-check controls ‘big hair’ whilst fighting frizz, leaving a dry finish. Awesome!

Summer hair problem Number Three:

“I go to the gym a lot, but it leaves my hair knotty and tangled with no shine.”

Our answer? Use TIGI B for Men Leave-In Conditioner, with the sister shampoo product from TIGI – really mild products for mens’ hair.

At our central Bristol Barber salon we use a select number of top products for men, tried and tested hair care products that really deliver the goods for our clients.

One of our favourite products is Matt Separation Wax from TIGI B.

A strong, workable wax that provides a strong matte hold and long-lasting finish, it’s been one of our preferred products for men for some time now.

It’s brilliant for all styles, and offers a natural finish for men. We find that the wax is best applied on either damp hair, or dry hair, when it gives great texture and awesome hold.

The wax is also humidity resistant, so gives good styling and finish support even on muggy Summer days, or when by the beach in sea-spray – but, and most importantly, is still easy to wash out as required. A winner, we reckon!

At our central Bristol Barber salon we like to spoil and pamper our clients – stands to reason, really, after all, a mens' haircut shouldn’t be something that’s a chore.

A Day in the Life of a Bristol Barber

One of the best things about being in our central Bristol Barber salon is that no two days are ever the same – due mainly to the awesome variety of clients we get coming into our salon.

But, to give you a flavour of a Day in the Life of a Bristol Barber, here goes!

A great start to the day – 7am in the gym with a 30-minute run to clear the mind and enhance focus – followed by a cracking breakfast, of course.

Hair groomed to fit the wardrobe today – going for a simple but stylish look, of black jeans and turn-ups, navy suede brogues, white fitted shirt, finished off with a blue and black tie.

The main preparation as a Bristol barber to promote the salon is, essentially, in getting my own hair care and look absolutely spot on: this is done with TIGI B for men daily shampoo and conditioner, towel-dried then sprayed with leave-in conditioner.

A quick blowdry to style, and finished off with TIGI B In-check for men – this brilliant hair product for men gives medium hold with a slight shine, whilst also removing any frizz effect.

Bristol Barber - specialising in creative cuts for men

At our central Bristol barber’s one of the most common requests is for a creative cut – but many of our clients are not sure what the latest high-street creative cuts for men actually are.

This is where we can, of course, help, advise and assist in creating the best look for each individual client.

At the moment, for example, one of the most popular creative cuts for men is a vintage look – similar to those being created for the TV series BroadwalkEmpire. 

This slicked-back, 1920-era hairstyle is coming into vogue with a vengeance, and is relatively straightforward to recreate for our clients in Bristol.
